Day 1 (Saturday) and day 3 (Monday) of the conference were held at LOFTET / LOFT, a conference room located on the campus of the Swedish University of Agriculturl Sciences (SLU), Ultuna. For the practical day (Sunday) delegates travelled to the Swedish Equestrian Centre Strömsholm.
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU)
ISES Sweden 2010 took place at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), on the Ultuna Campus, only 5 km south of central Uppsala. The Campus is home of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (VH).

Most of the Swedish education and research linked to farm and companion animals is carried out within this faculty. Half of the applications to study at SLU aim for education programmes run by the VH-faculty such as courses in animal science, ethology and animal welfare, veterinary medicine or the diploma programme in equine studies with specialisiations in racing, trotting, riding and stable management.
Swedish National Equestrian Centre Strömsholm
Practical demonstrations took place at The Swedish National Equestrian Centre, Ridskolan Strömsholm. It is located in beautiful surroundings next to the castle of Strömsholm in the county of Västmanland, only a 1-hour drive from Uppsala. It has been Sweden's national education centre of equestrian sport for several centuries. The former Royal Breeding Stud and central military riding school is now a Swedish center for equitation education and place for national and international competitions.

"Welcome to paradise! There should be a sign saying that at the entrance, because Strömsholm really is a paradise for both horses and horselovers. When you arrive you see beautiful buildings that remind you of estates and castles, but a closer look reveals them to be stables and riding halls. And there are horses everywhere, a total of 250 four-legged friends at the centre." (Ridskolan Strömsholm)
