Newsletter
The ISES Newsletter contains information and items of interest to the ISES Membership. Specifically it communicates relevant conferences, research, events, seminars, projects and developments. It is published twice a year.
The newsletters are currently distributed as paper copies but ISES is hoping to offer its members an electronic version of the newsletter in 2012.

Submissions
Text
Text should be supplied as a Word document or can be directly in the body of an email. Ideally the submission would include a brief title, a short description and a longer block of text that provides additional information. A photo or image along with a caption can also be included.
Images
Images should be supplied as separate files and not embedded in word documents. Images may be pictures, graphs or tables. The preferred file format is jpg. Please include captions for images.
Article size
Generally article size will vary from 200 to 600 words. Provided the content is relevant to the mission of ISES and there is sufficient space in the Newsletter, longer articles will be published. Inclusion is subject to review by the Newsletter Editor.
Copy deadline
While Newsletters are published in March and October, the copy deadline is the 1st of the month so for the March Newsletter, copy must be submitted by the 1st of March. Any material not received by the deadline may not be included in the Newsletter.
Submissions may be edited to, for example, improve expression or to reduce article size so that it may be accommodated in the space available in the newsletter.
The submission of an article does not guarantee inclusion in the newsletter. Inclusion is subject to review by the Newsletter Editor.
Selection criteria
To be considered for inclusion in the Newsletter, a contribution must meet the following criteria:
- Does it align with ISES mission?
- Does it benefit/inform the membership?
- Is it relevant to the membership?
- Is the timeliness of the information appropriate?
- Is the submission of a suitable quality?
- Is there sufficient space available in the newsletter?

Any advertising material submitted must be clearly identified as advertising and will be included in the Newsletter only if space provides. Advertising material included will be placed in the section of the Newsletter marked as advertising. Advertising material should be submitted ready for inclusion, artwork will not be completed by the Newsletter Editor.
Design of the newsletter
The general design and layout of the Newsletter are the responsibility of the Newsletter Editor.
