The 20th International Society for Equitation Science Conference is back in the U.S. for the first time in over a decade on July 23rd – 26th, 2025. This conference location will be a vacation destination hosted by Colorado State University in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado! Fort Collins boasts 300 days of sunshine, spectacular mountain views, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the town and mountains!

   

Conference Details

This multi-day, interdisciplinary conference will explore scientific insights into the unique bond between horses and humans and how we can apply this knowledge to enhance horse welfare. In alignment with the ISES mission, the event will emphasize the importance of objective research and best practices in improving the well-being of horses in their interactions with humans. The conference will delve into the complexities of various human-horse relationships, examine what we’ve learned about these interactions, and further discuss ways to strengthen our connections with these remarkable animals.

Do you have a groundbreaking study or innovative approach in equitation science? We invite researchers, practitioners, and professionals to submit their abstracts for the 20th ISES Conference, where we will explore new perspectives and advancements in the field.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Increasing the effectiveness of education and policy in relation to equine welfare
  • Enhancing equine quality of life through human-animal interactions
  • Fostering greater awareness and the development of ethical training methods
