Day One explored the relationship between horses’ natural behaviours, their environments and welfare. Talks covered free-living horses and nature restoration, housing and social needs, sleep, pain recognition, human–horse relationships and sustainable parasite control, highlighting how understanding the nature of horses can inform evidence-based management and improve welfare.
