What is the purpose of this webinar series?

The International Society for Equitation Science (ISES) Student Webinar Series provides a dedicated space for students and early-career researchers to explore equitation science, connect with experts, and engage with current topics shaping the future of equine research, training, and welfare.

As a sister series to the main ISES webinar programme, these sessions focus on developing scientific thinking, exposing students to emerging research, and encouraging evidence-based approaches to understanding the human–horse relationship. Through presentations and discussion, the series aims to support learning, inspire future research, and build connections within the global equitation science community.

Who is this webinar for?

This series is designed primarily for:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Early-career researchers
    Students interested in equine behaviour, welfare, training, and science
  • Equine science and veterinary students
  • Young professionals entering the equine industry
  • Anyone looking to develop their understanding of evidence-based equitation science

No previous research experience is required as sessions are designed to be accessible while introducing current thinking and research approaches.

Who will be presenting?

Sessions will feature leading researchers, academics, and industry professionals from across equitation science. Speakers are selected to provide students with exposure to both cutting-edge research and practical applications across equine behaviour, training, welfare, and related disciplines.

What format will the webinar follow?

Sessions will typically run for approximately 1 hour and include:

Will the webinars be recorded?

Yes. All sessions will be recorded and made available to registered attendees after the event, allowing students to revisit content or catch up if unable to attend live.

How do I register?

Registration details will be shared ahead of each webinar.

For 2026, Student Membership is free and provides access to Student Webinar Series events and recordings. Once registration opens:

  • Register for the webinar
  • Check your confirmation email for joining details. You should receive it straight away, if not, email [email protected]
  • Attend live or watch the recording afterwards

Can I watch after the event?

Yes, recordings will be available following each webinar for all members.

I am a member, how do I access recordings?

Log in to the ISES website and visit your member content area or webinar library to access available recordings and resources.

Where do I apply for a certificate of attendance?

Certificates of attendance are available for registered attendees upon request.

To receive a certificate, please ensure you are registered for the webinar and submit your request using the certificate request form after the session has taken place. Certificates are typically issued within 1–2 weeks and sent via email.

Please note that certificates confirm attendance or registration and do not represent formal academic credit.
